The results are up for the last battle of the flyweights! Check out how the battle went for both teams under the cut!
Another day for a challenge, another day for two great performers to face. And, maybe, another day for friendships to be tested!
The first one to make his way to the gym was Joseph Benavidez representing Team Scorpion. Joseph, older and experienced fighter, looked focused and alienated from outside looks and cheers. Scorpion applauded him, wished him all the luck and strength. Benavidez made himself confortable in the cage, warming up.
The second one to get to the local gym, accompanied by Mortis, was Paddy Holohan. The pair and the coaches looked relaxed enough while Mortis could be heard telling Holohan to just fucking punch him in the head. Holohan laughed out loud, and proceeded to continue with his ritual to get inside the cage.
↳ Round one
Holohan looked focused and ready to invest in the first round. Benitez, on the other hand, would take a defensive position, invest with strikes and punches - with no avail. The round was spent testing each other, with few moments of tension that had both guys playing defensive with Benavidez looking for a powerful one hand strike, and with Holohan looking for a takedown every now and then, but failing and keeping a distance. Both were cautious and setting a slow pace for the fight. Holohan attacked, and Benavidez defended. And when Benavidez attacked, Holohan tried to find a way to strike back in the meantime.
It was intense for both guys, until the bell sounded.
↳ Round two
It appeared that the testing of strength had began once more with Benavidez looking for the finish. But Holohan was aiming for the same thing.
Until, the unexpected happened, and a well placed punch over Benavidez opened an oportunity for Paddy to claim the win!
Referee: The winner, by TKO…Paddy “The Hooligan” Holohan!
Mortis celebrated next to the cage and clapped happily. Paddy looked pleased and happy with the currtent result and exited the cage to celebrate with his corner.
